I always mourn a little tiny bit when the peony/iris bloom time is over! As I deadhead them and collect the last of the blooms for a bouquet, I bid them a farewell until next year. This year, they were short-lived because of the heat wave we've had for four days - they just simply expired! It's nice to have early, mid and late-blooming peonies, which stretches the season.
This white iris is beyond beautiful with an absolutely wondrous smell! I don't know its name as it came from a rental property but is a favorite.
The wooden box is a recent thrift find and will be used in a varity of ways.
This iris is from a friend and is a delightful one!
And the waterlilies are blooming - a sure sign summer's here!
Happy, happy sigh...I! Love! Summer!

Beautiful flowers!
oh - i so get what you are saying about mourning the loss of when a flower species comes to an end. Amazing how we have to wait a whole year to see it again. Thanks for linking up to Cottage flora Thursday's! my peonies have not opened yet - so be sure to come back - i will share a post as soon as they start to show their pretty flowers! xoxo, tracie
So beautiful!!! The water lilies are my favorites.....I used to have a few and the blooms were amazing!
Oh my - what beauty you are surrounded by. Wish I could come by and see it. Miss you. Have a super day!
Oh your flowers are all so beautiful! I love peonies the best and mine are just now at the budding stage, I will be enjoying them very soon!
Hugs, Cindy
A beautiful display. What a nice pop of color (and fabulous smells) against the neutral background.
All your flowers are beautiful and I love the blue canning jar you're using for a vase.
I understand your sentiments and experience the same each season as well... with me it's particularly the spring things with the daffodils especially... one grows accustomed to their presence over a six week season and then suddenly, they are no more. Your water lily is fantastic! I love the color... Larry
Beautiful bloom. Awesome iris.
Your peonies and iris are beautiful. V
Esther, I love what you've done with your blog design and header! The simple elegance is just beautiful. Oh, and your flowers are lovely, as well. ;)
Thanks for linking to the party, and I'll be adding your blog button to my sidebar.
