Finished and in Place!

The chiffonier is finished! She's been taking up way too room in the garage! She needed repairs that only hubs could do and me being a used to be nagger not wanting to be a nag, finally asked if he could finish it before he went to MS for a week. Guess what?
He forgot it needed repairs!

Two summers ago, I was driving the back streets of a local town and saw the chiffonier by someone's house. long story short, we went back and the homeowner was delighted to say yes - ANYTHING on the pile, ma'am - an offer we refused. She sat outside in the rain, had two missing feet but found in one of the drawers and her bottom had holes in it. But I knew she could be rescued!
- before -
- after -
I knew when we picked it up, there WAS NO ROOM in our house for it. My intent was fix, paint and sell. after hubs did a fab job of fixing it up and brought it home, I kinda mumbled under my breath that it's going to be hard to give it up. Hubs, bless his heart, said we're FINDING room! And literally, the only place was in our bedroom which is small and I REALLY liked my bench and shelf that was already there.

She really is BEAUTIFUL!
From her curves to the etchings on the mirror...
to her graceful feet.
From the top of the tip-tilt mirror...
to the scallops on her skirt!
She's got a cute keyhole with a glass knob,
speckled mirrors,
   LOVELY drawer pulls,
a new color I fell in love with,
and all SHABBIED up!
She looks exactly like i pictured her...OLD, GRUNGY AND BEAUTIFUL!
she's also very useful...love useful and beautiful... for bedroom storage!
'happy, happy SIGH!'
 - our bedroom before -
- after -
Now if we can only get the clock pendulum to swing quietly!

beautiful!!! You really need to think about being a part of my spring show!! Just think, you could buy, paint, sell. And you don't need to think about where you would put it. You would simply sell it!

Hard to believe you found that out on the street. However, it's so pretty now that you fixed it up! I like this a lot better than the shelf and bench you had before. Just my opinion, but I'd rather have 1 nice piece rather than 2 smaller ones. Well done!

I have something like this sitting in our garage. It's just waiting for spring so I can get it ready for our new master bedroom we're planning. I am so happy I saw your post because now I know what to call it! It belonged to my husband's mother and since she passed away when he was only 19, I never got to meet her. But I'm so excited to have something of hers that we will both see and enjoy everyday. Thanks for sharing!! I think I'll become a follower!

Ok I have no idea what a Chiffonier is supposed to be, but I do know that this turned out gorgeous! Wow, what a stunning makeover. I am so glad you found a place for that one. And thanks for linking up to GD!

Oh, Esther! You so torture me with your fabulous shabby finds! I would have carried that piece home on my back, and removed whatever else needed to be removed, to make a place for it at home. It's one of my favorite pieces of yours now - and you have lots of them! ;)

Thanks for joining the party. I've missed you.

Blessings,
