These hydrangea needed a second chance - badly! I almost gave up on them...they didn't fill my expectations at all. You can read about them
HERE. After their second transplant was a failure, I decided to give them one more chance for another summer. I planted them on the east side of the gazebo where they're protected from the hot afternoon sun and get extra water falling from the roof of the gazebo when it rains. Now they're lush and beautiful and blooming like mad!
Last summer.
This summer.
And a close-up.
H-m-m-m...don't we all need another chance?

How gorgeous! What an amazing recovery. I absolutely love hydrangeas. Good for you for not giving up on them!
I would also love to have you come link up at my party!
I love Hydrangeas, they are one of my favorites. Yours are doing beautifully.

I have hydrangea-love too. Yours look so pretty next to the porch. Mine have not bloomed yet! Pretty post.
Yes, Esther, there comes a time in every ones life that we need a second chance. And I'm sure you are pleased that you gave your hydrangeas a second chance. They look like they are going to do very well where they are now. After reading this, I'm glad I put my hydrangeas where I did. They get the morning and afternoon sun, but not the hot evening sun.
Hugs, Cindy
How beautiful! Luckily you gave them one more chance!

beautiful garden shots!
Praise God for second chances!
The hydrangeas are gorgeous. I'd like a second chance in my garden... I'm thinking, drought tolerant blooming plants and shrubs... something that will last through the HOT DRY TEXAS SUMMERS!
I'm so very grateful for the second chances I've been given too, Pat
Amazing! I'm actually giving some another chance too. I hope to get some blooms soon. Your look beautiful!
Love it that you didn't give up on your hydrangeas....i'm sure as they grow together they will protect one another & stay even healthier! thanks for linking up to Cottage Flora Thursday's! xoxo, tracie
When we get a our second chance, we need someone like your hydrangea's had.
Wow they are doing much better. I have a couple that I need to move somewhere.
Applause
OH JOY!!!!
You saved them! They are glorious! OH how I looooove hydrangea!
If you pour your unused tea water or coffee water on them or ground the roots with your leftover tealeaves or coffee grounds it turns them bluish purple because of the acid. They also LOVE a mulch around the base of dropped fallen evergreen needles. More acid for the soil.
These are lovely, love them very much, so glad you spared their lives!!!
