The Day Before D - Day

Yesterday was a good day - the weather was fabulous with temps in the high seventies and I edged a few flower beds and mowed the grass and we watched L's ballgame last evening. Hubs is feeling well. Today, the temps barely reach the fifties and I can't work outside for my therapy. To start an indoor project is not worth messing up the house before D - day. I'm feeling a little lost, a lot aimless and very disrupted!

I'm sitting in my favorite chair and I can see the pink DOGWOOD blooming outside my window - it lifts my spirit! Then the phone and the doorbell ring at the same time. I ignore the doorbell but answer the phone, knowing I was going to cry because I was already feeling weepy. I see many God-moments...the call coming from our pastor's wife who ministered to me. Going to the kitchen window, I see a bag on the bench outside the front door - it's freshly cut garden tea, Hub's favorite  summer drink, thoughtfully dropped off by DIL M...thank you, Martha! Friends dropping by to care and pray for you. Getting an encouraging phone call fron a friend and daughter J & SIL W...God- moments? Yes, indeed!

Now we wait. There's lots of waiting moments, moments holding your breath and hoping for the best news out of the bad news. In the waiting, I worship at not just the ALTAR of lament but also the altar of rejoicing, because out of this, I experience an amazing peace, held up by this community of prayer warriors who are praying for us when I can't find words to pray!

We worship while we wait!
(thank you for that phrase, J&A!)
