Recovery

This is what I see outside our kitchen door - absolutely gorgeous!

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

 Thursday of this week was D-day - a mixed emotional day of dread and wanting to know. Three of our children waited along side of us - the other two live out-of-state and are coming today. My brother, Ed and sis-ta Rhoda spent several hours with us. It was a l-o-n-g, exhausting day but in another sense a good day! It felt good to know this THING, what felt monstrous and was going to gobble up Hubs' body, was coming OUT. To feel the CARE and support of our children was wonderful. That out of their pain, they were still able to give us this gift, was amazing!

The surgery took three hours. The mass was attached to the spleen and was peeled away, needing a larger incision and more recovery time. The liver scan came through clear - THANK YOU, Jesus! Due to pain management, he has no pain - THANK YOU, Jesus!

We are VERY GRATEFUL for the support and prayers that have been and continue to be prayed in our behalf. Thank you for the kind comments here and on face book. This is a journey not of our own choosing but it's these kinds of journeys that we cry out to God - where persons like you make this journey easier.
From the friend who took time out of her busy day to bring us lunch, the phone calls, cards, the vists both here and the hospital and the care hugs...we see God in you!

GOD BLESS YOU!
